TV's Mr Trouble

This hunk will scare off any mom...

He didn't think anyone would notice him in the role of Colin but that proved the turning point in his career.

Parents find his fresh looks appealing but no mom would want the kind of guy played by Jason Wiles in Beverly HIlls 90210 anywhere near her daughter. There's no doubt about it--Colin Robbins spells trouble.

Kelly (Jennie Garth) was the one who introduced Colin to the Beverly Hills crowd at the start of the season. She met the young artist during her stint as a model in New York and fell madly in love with him.

When she realisied he'd been involved with Valerie (Tiffany-Amber Thiessen), her alarm bells should have started ringing. But when she found out about the rich, older woman supporting him it broke her heart.

But she ignored the danger signals and continued seeing him. When she reached an emotional low in her relationship with her dad, the only support she got from Colin was drugs.

Eventually she managed to beat her addiction but still tried to save the relationship until she finally realised the man was dragging her down.

By that time Valerie was waiting for him with open arms but even she got more than she'd bargained for. The police caught Colin with cocaine and after she'd paid his bail he promplty disappeared.

Although that was the end of Colin Robbins, the hunky Jason is still around.

The 28-year-old heartthrob was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Lenexa, Kansas. From childhood he was a great movie fan and loved theatre but never imagined he'd make a career in showbiz.

He spent most of his time in the gym, unwittingly preparing for the day he would join the Hollywood acting fraternity.

A talent scout spotted him on the beach and persuaded him to try his luck in Hollywood. He'd just finished school and hadn't made up his mind what to do with the rest of his life.

He played numerous minor roles before landing the role of an abuse victim in the TV movie Big Boys Don't Cry.

At the ripe old age of 25 Aaron Spelling cast him as Colin Robbins. "It's quite wrong to assume just because a man is good-looking he can't act," says Aaron.

For many unknowns a job with Aaron is the big break they dream of and Jason was no exception.

"I didn't really think anybody would notice me in the role of Colin. It was hard to really be part of the Beverly Hills team. If you don't play one of the major roles, you're never part of the clique - you remain an outsider, a causal passerby."

Although he appeared in Beverly Hills 90210 for just one season, it was a turning point in his career - since then the roles have poured in.

First there was the TV movie Windrunner, in which he plays a half-caste Indian who searches for his roots so he can be a better football player. This was soon followed by his first big-screen movies, Kicking and Screaming and Angel Tide.

He also appeared in Stephen King's Sometimes They Come Back but his big break was the box office hit Higher Learning, in which he played Kristy Swanson's long-haired boyfriend.
