March 2003, On the Set of Third Watch

Like many fans, I always imagine myself meeting one of the cast members, but then I come back to reality and realize it was just my wishful thinking. This time it wasn't.

Two Monday's ago I managed a trip to NYC with my mom and my aunt and we were going to visit the set of Third Watch. We wound up in Brooklyn (by town car) and as soon as we got out and felt the ice cold air hit our faces who did I spot.. why Jason Wiles, and he was talking with some guy in front of 55-David and a flipped over bank truck. I was giddy already, I tried taking a photo but it was so hard because traffic kept going across. After we met up with the assistant to a friend, we watched him film his scenes. At one point in between rehearsal I spotted him jumping on the spot, I gathered to keep warm, then all of a sudden he was doing Karate moves, I couldn't help but giggle.

Later in the afternoon we were back outside watching them film again, and the assistant came back and said she had spoken with Jason, I teased her about rubbing it in to me, because she knew that I liked him and Bosco. No more than 10 mins later, I glanced back over at the truck and spotted Jason walking towards us. I tried to think nothing of it that maybe he was just going to pass by us, but no, he was headed straight in MY direction. My heart must have been jumping out of my jacket, I was so nervous. As he came within a foot of me he proceeded to ask which one of us (there were others standing near us) has the friend who went to see him in his play. I was like.. Oh that's me.. and I mentioned nypdbosco's (the webmaster's) name and he was happy to hear I knew her! When he then greeted mom, my aunt, and myself he took off his glove and gave a firm handshake. He mentioned that he was glad we were talking to him now because he wasn't in a good mood that morning; I found that hard to believe.

After getting an autograph from him for myself and one for a friend of mine, my mom asked if we could get a photo together. He willingly agreed and before I knew it, Jason had his arm on my back.I wanted to faint right there. Before he went back to filming, he personally thanked each of us for showing up and shook our hands, and gave us hugs; he was very sweet and polite.

Even though I do have photos and an autograph to prove that I had an encounter with Jason Wiles, I still can't believe it. I don't know if I am forgetting anything, I can't remember exact detail of what I said or did but all I know is that I will have an ever-lasting memory of that day.
