At the end of September my parents took a trip to New York City, and were able to watch a little of the filming of Third Watch. Jason just happened to be filming a scene when they got there. It was a scene with Tia Texada (Sgt. Cruz) outside the fictional 55th Precinct. They were able to stand across the street and watch them film as well as take pictures. They couldn't hear any of the dialogue, but had a blast watching everything that goes on during filming.

The cast and crew broke for a lunch break, and my parents walked around to the trailers in hopes of finding Jason. Their timing was perfect as he was just coming out of his trailer when they got there. My mom introduced herself to Jason, and let him know that she was the mother of the jasonwiles.net webmaster. He gave my mom a hug, and shook my dad's hand.

My parents spoke with Jason for a little while about the show, and my dad let Jason know that he had been taking some pictures for the website. Then Tia came over. (And for those of you who don't like Sgt. Cruz on the show...Tia is -very- different from her character! My mom just adored her.)

A man came over and informed Jason and Tia that they were due back on set in 10 minutes, so my parents said their goodbyes. Jason asked if they were going to stick around to watch more of the filming, and my mom told him that they were "too old" to be hanging around a television filming all day. Now my mom is wishing they would have stayed because she and my dad really had a good time.

Both of my parents have been fans of Third Watch since the pilot episode, and they are the reason that I got into watching the show. Now they are even bigger fans of the show after having seen how everything is done on location, and after meeting both Jason and Tia. One of the first things my mom told me after meeting Jason was "he's such a sweet, young man".
